Bsically any two characters that connect-
So two actual anime/manga characters who go together, or I know some people have their own made up characters (and even stories to go with them) so you could draw two made up characters that are linked too, or if your made up character links to an actual character you could draw that too (say your made up character is a long lost brother of Ichigo....or a sometimes member of a Naruto squad with Gaara. You get the idea). Any and all is good.

awww cute idea xD i'm leaving for china soon tho D: i'll have to sketch something super quick so i can just like...scan it in and finish it up on photoshop. i won't have a scanner in china either so i don't wanna risk trying traditional and having it turn up funky on a digital cam >_> i won't be back by the 6th so i guess i'll just post it up here ^^;

There is a whole bunch of manga to choose from -all sorts of series. Some are in the middle or end of a series rather than at the beginning, and some are used (a lot are ex-library manga), but for the most part they are all in good condition, and you get a lot to choose from. I've gottten more since last time we did this too.

In the fall (the deadline will be near the beginning of Nov. -still working on the date) we will have our "official" library draw-anything-manga-drawing- contest, where the prizes are even bigger.

I had at very first thougt up having only the one manga drawing contest for the library for the year, but then I got this idea to try doing little mini drawing contests (the manga missions) as a sort of fun distraction to, well, get people to contribute cool things to our website and to give bored people ideas for things to draw ....but the interest for it keeps growing everytime we do it (yeah!!!). We'll see how many people enter and what the interest is like this time. I am thinking about the possibility (in the future, not this time) of melding the "official" library manga drawing contest and the manga missions together...maybe 3 or 4 Manga missions a year with larger prizes...just a thought. I don't want to burn people out with too many drawing contests though; people are busy with school and things. We'll see how many people enter this time. Let me know if you guys have any thoughts, or if you like the format how it is now.

Either way, thank you to everyone who enters. I can't tell you how cool it is to see everyone's art and their particular take on the manga mission. And, I know I'm not the only one who enjoys seeing everyone's drawings and how they turn out.
