I don't want to be a hater/flamer or anything, but I'm absolutely certain I saw this exact image in a manga illustration book that I got from the library I got a couple months ago.
Not that it's not well done or anything, but I think the artist could have come up with his own idea ^^;

I think both of the drawings you mentioned may possibly be from Christopher Hart drawing books, but I can not be sure. They may just have that christopher hart look, and that's it. The judges did realize this at the last minute, but after trying to track down countless drawing books came to the conclusion in the end that really, almost any drawing could be copied from looking at another pciture, or part of a pitcure, if you think about it, and since there are so many original sources it's hard to tell. We decided to still give these drawings honorable mentions in the end. They were both just well executed, regardless if they were done from looking at something else or not. It was well inked, colored and shaded. And they both depict well a sense of action and motion that many drawings do not. Really, there were so many outstading drawings this year that we should have given honrable mentions to like 15 people. Ah well...
