yeah, anime of all kinds is kinda hard to watch among the uninitiated sometimes, i remember one time my cable got shut off at my dad's house, so i cracked out Gundam 8th MS Team because its probably the single best Gundam series ever [SEED will always be my favorite because of Kira and his awesomeness, but 8th MS Team is amazing] but i forgot Kiki's nude scene...

i hear a lot about moon phase, fill me in on it a bit?

Okay, I will try my best to summarize Moon Phase. So, the main character, Kouhei Morioka, travels to a castle in Germany to take pictures of paranormal phenomena for his friend. At the castle, Kouhei meets Hazuki, the little girl with cat ears (who is a vampire). She drinks his blood and declares him her servent. So, Kouhei takes Hazuki back to Tokyo and the series is basically about how their relationship progresses.

Or, at least, thats what Wikipedia claims.

Yeah, I've gotten into some pretty awkward moments involving anime before. Such as the time I was watching Full Metal Alchemist, and Envy was on the screen, and my brother walks into the room. He asks me who the girl is on the screen. I tell him it's a boy and his name is Envy. He doesn't believe me, and we have this five-minute long argument on Envy's gender, which eventually ended in me consulting the internet.

He still thinks I'm weird for watching that show.

i wonder what most people would have thought of me watching gravitation in my underwear at 2 in the morning eating ice cream if they had seen me doing it, that is such a great moment when i think back to it.

i never knew Envy was male til he said he was Hoenheim's son, then i was like "that's a dude!?" i never thought Envy was hot so it wasn't the normal "OH MY GOD! MAN!!!!!!!!!" moment you often find male anime fans finding themselves in, but it was still kinda weird.

though i've had good ones with manga, since i once brought "man's best friend" to school, read it and showed it to anyone who wanted to know what i was reading. reactions are fun!

It was not nearly as bad as when some guy at my old school had this crush on Sesshomaru, who he thought was a girl. I saw him fawning over this picture and I go over to him and say, "Dude, that's a guy." I never got to see his reaction, unfortunately.

You watch all your anime that way? I always need a pillow, some popcorn, and all the lights to be turned off to watch anime. Oh, wait, when I rented the first disc of Tweeny Witches I burnt the popcorn...

no, i mostly watch anime drinking green tea whilst laying sprawled on my love seat, or sitting so i can draw of readjust Gundam Action Figures to new poses.

i have a tendency to just set things up for myself self-consciously, really to someone so obsessed with double-entendres to make such silly things without realizing it, and being as i never realize how funny these things are at the time i think i'm just doing it in the back of my mind. i have trouble coming up with exact examples, one i can remember was wrapping my dad's presents in wanted ads when i was chronically unemployed. that got me tons of ball-busting.

i used to drink Bawls whilst i watched anime since i have tons of anime i watch until 5 in the morning on saturdays since i had trouble staying up, but now that's no longer a problem so i just started bringing my Bawls to animanga instead.

Sesshie is a pretty good one to find a guy having a crush on, when i wore my sesshie shirt plenty of guys talked about how hot they thought "she" was, when i explained he was male the just got disinterested.

though there were a lot of guys who thought Duo Maxwell was a girl and were very sad when i sad he was a boy, they just looked really confused and lost.

my dad always thought Kenshin Himura was a girl, he'd argue with me that he couldn't possibly be male, that was a weekly debate for us back in the day watching Toonami.

A lot of people confuse guys for girls. It's really funny. I laugh at them, inwardly, because they catch on if you do it out loud.

The way you describe your anime watching experience makes mine look pathetic. But I still have my coffee candies from the Asian Market!

I had to wrap a really big present for one of my mom's friends once. It was too big to bother with wrapping paper, and it wouldn't fit in a bag, so I wrapped it in lots of gift bags. I used pretty much all of them...

i pretty much wrap all presents with newspaper and duct tape, i like to call them my mail bombs instead of presents.

yeah, i guess i do have very active anime watching practices, that and the green tea really helps set everything in a good mood.

I have one thing to say: only in anime could there be a homosexual Dutch man and beat boxing samurai on the same disc.

yeah, Samurai Champloo is an amazing series. but i still say an anime starring a robot, Freddy Mecury, a Gorilla and a guy with a seemingly self-aware mohawk is a great example of "only in anime".
