well i'll admit i feel a little wierd being the odd-man-out in this situation, but it doesn't really offend me that much. "don't tempt the lord" comes to mind. people tend to look to religion to save them without their own personal effort, foxhole christians and such, people who only believe in god when it benefits them or stop believing when they don't get everything they want handed to them because they prayed for it.
a drowning man is approached by three seperate boats, the captain of each offers to save him and each time he says "God will save me." he drowns and goes to the gates, where God greets him. the man says "God, i had faith in you and that you would save me, why did you still let me drown!?" God says to him "i sent you three boats."
people are weak and stupid, they accept or reject whatever is convienient for them. i believe in God not because i expect divine hand outs or anything else, my heart tells me that what i believe is the truth.
really i don't give a flying crap about cross earrings or any of that other stuff, my dad had a cross earring when he was a pastor.[many years before i was born.]
this is a touchy subject so i think i'll leave well enough alone at this point.
